What we do
Business services and consultancy:
We aim to put you in control of your business, your income and your finances. We can work alongside you in a number of ways, to help you improve your profits and increase the value of your business.
Tax:
We strive to ensure that you pay the correct amount of tax at the correct time. We also strive to ensure that you have good notice of your liabilities, and that you are able to take advantage of any opportunities there may be to save or defer tax. We help you deal with forms, returns and administration of your tax affairs.
Our Approach
We are a firm of Chartered Accountants regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. We accept and abide by standards of conduct and of work that are laid down by the Institute and we accept instructions to act for you on the basis that we will act in accordance with those standards.
We aim to work with you in an approachable, collaborative, thorough and professional manner, to achieve a solid result for you. We will always strive to do things properly, and to think "around" immediate issues so as to give you the best advice. On occasion, to ensure this is the case, we will consult with outside expert sources to ensure that we do indeed give you the best advice.
We do our best at all times to satisfy ourselves that the way you operate your business will not lead to unnecessary difficulties or complications in the future, and that accounts, returns and other information which we certify, or with which we are otherwise associated in any way, are complete, materially accurate and are in accordance with accounting and tax rules. We take this approach so as not to leave you vulnerable to assertions of mis-statement (or worse) in the event of tax inquiries or VAT inspections, and to allow you to move forward with confidence in the business information at your disposal.
As far as tax is concerned, we recognise that tax has a major economic impact on you and your business. We aim to advise you of any opportunities there may be to save or defer tax. Sometimes we may advise you that it may be better to pay some tax now to save more tax in the future. However, we adhere strongly to the view that the tax tail should not wag the commercial dog.
Our charges
Our aim is to provide value for money and a result for you. To work thoroughly and closely with you, we have to charge at a level which though not the highest in the market is not the lowest either.
We offer a variety of payment options:
- Fixed price agreement allows certainty on both sides as to the level of fees. Where it is feasible for us to do so, we will offer this facility. Payment is by monthly standing order. Once a fee is fixed, we will not change it in respect of the work it is to cover. If you adopt this method, we do not charge anything in addition for telephone calls.
- Traditional billing, on the basis of time spent on your affairs, is an option, if that is what you would prefer, or if for some reason the scope of our services is too unpredictable.
- Credit card payment is available, if that is helpful to you.
